Few months ago, I read a book titled ‘Natural Bodybuilding’ by John Hansen. He’s a natural bodybuilder, meaning tested drug free in competition.
To clarify some issues about the word natural - being a natural bodybuilder doesn’t mean that you don’t take protein, creatine, zma and all the likes. In actual fact you do, because they are considered supplements, but always mistaken as steroids.
Steroids are just testosterones that boost protein synthesis, put your body into an anabolic state, increases performance and allows hypertrophy more easily. It’s not some miracle drug that can give the hulk figure just by eating them. We’ll still need a regular training routine and clean diet.
Anyway, back to the book, he was talking about what was the most important factor/issue in bodybuilding:
‘The most important thing in Bodybuilding is neither your diet nor your training regime. It is the support you get from your family.’
I did nothing except nodding my head furiously in agreement.
Because Bodybuilding is something so out of the ordinary, the thing you need most will be the support from family members. Your diet, lifestyle and social life changes. You’ll be someone different.
I would like to be one frankly. Consider me a freak, but I don’t see anything wrong with it. Look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, isn’t he cool? But then the ‘market’ here for bodybuilders and PTs are not as large as compared to other countries.
Of course, I am far from being one, and will not be one obviously.
I’ll just dream of being one because everything is possible in there and you don’t need anyone’s support or approval. Haha!
